Johnny Dangerfield Shares Passion for Golf, Motorsport, and Automotive Industry
Johnny Dangerfield – Sports Passion
Golf professional, motorsport fan and leading South Carolina automotive dealership owner Johnny Dangerfield opens up about his passions.
From winning back to back golf tournaments at Charleston’s Daniel Island Club to compete in the Annual Discount Auto Parts 200 motorsport event, leading businessman and Seacoast Church sports ministry supporter Johnny Dangerfield is today at the helm of South Carolina‘s number one independent automotive dealership by sales volume.
Sharing his passion for golf, Dangerfield opens up about he and golf partner Marc Horne’s back to back tournament wins at prestigious South Carolina golf club, the scenic Daniel Island Club, located just outside Charleston. “Each tournament held at the club is invariably wonderful,” reveals Dangerfield, “and to claim another victory alongside Marc was a great way for both of us to kick off this year’s golf season.”
A particular fan of motorsport, having competed in high-octane events such as the Annual Discount Auto Parts 200, held in Lakeland, Florida, Dangerfield is also an avid and proud supporter of Mount Pleasant-based Seacoast Church’s sports ministry, known as Seacoast Sports. “Johnny Dangerfield has been a godsend for the sports ministry here at the church,” explains Seacoast Church director Wes Koch of Dangerfield’s efforts within the ministry. “When I first met Johnny and mentioned that I was the director for the sports ministry at Seacoast, he was quick to respond.”
“He said to me, ‘If it has to do with God’s kingdom and sport… I’m in!’” adds Koch of Dangerfield and his ties to the organization’s sports ministry. Johnny Dangerfield has subsequently picked up the title of Seacoast Sports’ most active and trusted supporter, according to Koch. “Johnny consistently goes further than asked,” adds the church director, “and there’s no way we could do what we do without his help. I count him as a blessing from God and someone I can rely on for anything.”
Having enjoyed over 30 years in the automotive industry, Dangerfield is today at the helm of Automaxx of the Carolinas, based in Summerville. Originally founded in 1995 as Johnny’s Truck and Auto Center in Moncks Corner by Dangerfield himself, the business now sells upwards of 2,000 vehicles annually under his expert direction. “We’re incredibly proud,” he adds, wrapping up, “to be the number one independent automotive dealership in the state of South Carolina by sales volume, which is a real testament to the continued hard work and efforts of the entire team here at Automaxx.”
